Blake Street Restaurant List

Blake Street, that intersects with the 16th Street Mall, has a row of great restaurants. Take the free shuttle bus or walk down to the Blake Street stop and explore the following restaurants (you may want reservations for some).

Freshcraft– 20+ beers on tap and 120+ in bottle and the menu is “upscale comfort food” with sandwiches and salads too. Lunch and dinner served. Located at 1530 Blake Street, 303-758-9608.

Savory Spice Shop

I have been going here to get my spices since before they became nationally famous (they have their own food show now!) and this place is awesome. You can find any spice you want and wonderful custom blends. Need cinnamon? They have about 5 kinds! Sold in special plastic bags or spice bottles (for easy packing). Take the free 16th Street Shuttle bus to the end past Market Street, and walk to Platte. Close to REI and the Colt & Gray restaurant.

St Mark’s Coffee Shop

This place is a bit of a walk from the conference hotel, but sounds like a great coffee shop find and would be a fun walk to stretch your legs after conferencing! See this article for the inside scoop on St. Mark’s Coffee Shop in Denver.

Freshii is a good lunch option near the conference hotel (open till early dinner time) that makes tasty wraps and bowls and has more interesting flavors (and more reasonable prices) than most chains.

Freshii in Republic Plaza

Denver, Colorado
Tel: 303 825 3320

Store Hours
Mon – Fri 7:00am to 6:00pm

To get to Republic Plaza food court, you access the food court from the 16th Street Mall by walking down a set of stairs to access it (it is near a Starbucks – though that doesn’t tell you much, since there are about 15 Starbucks downtown!).

I had a request to give some suggestions for high-quality spas downtown, not far from the conference hotel. Here you go!

Located at the gorgeous Hotel Monaco, this is a popular day spa.

The spa at the  Brown Palace is located in Denver’s oldest and most elegant hotel. This spa opened in 2006 in a space off the atrium lobby which once housed Turkish baths back in 1892. The spa’s special soaks draw natural spring water from the artesian well which has always provided water for this historic hotel. Waterfalls also form part of the spa’s decor.

This spa has a highly-rated location within the conference hotel (the Hyatt Regency Denver).

The Spa at the Oxford Hotel also comes highly recommended.

Aveda has a school in downtown Denver and they offer discounted services. This is right on the 16th Street Mall and is very close to the conference hotel as well. Find out more information and book here:

The Peaks Lounge (great views!)

The Peaks Lounge is at the top of the Denver Hyatt Regency (the conference hotel) has a view not to be missed. The view is recommended by locals and visitors alike is one-of-a-kind.

The views from this perch are stunning and include the Mile High City and the surrounding Rocky Mountains from atop Hyatt Regency Denver at Peaks Lounge.

The lounge offers cocktails, light appetizers and desserts as well large wine and beer selections.
