16th Street Mall

Denver’s 16th Street Mall is one of the most successful pedestrian “malls” in the country. It is closed to cars and is over a mile long, with shops, restaurants, hotels and other amenities. The mall has free shuttle buses that go from end to end every few minutes, allowing visitors to either walk or take the bus. For more information on the 16th Street Mall, check out Wikipedia’s article on it.

The free shuttles stop every block on the Mall and operate every day starting at 5:00 a.m. on weekdays, 5:30 a.m. on Saturdays and 7:00 a.m. on Sundays/ holidays. Service continues throughout the day with the last complete roundtrip every night at 1:35 a.m. More info on the free shuttle can be found at: http://www.rtd-denver.com/FREEMallRide.shtml

In downtown Denver, it is very easy to get around. The ATA Conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Denver, one of the newer hotels downtown. It is just one block off the bustling 16th Street mall, with great views of the Rocky Mountains.

Visitors are able to use public transportation to venture outside of downtown Denver with the public Litght Rail (commuter train) sytstem. Check out the Denver RTD site for more info.
